Grease (1978) Greasemight be a classic film that many remember fondly, and it might be one of the more reliable feel-good pick-me-ups for a bad day, but that doesn’t mean it offers good relationship advice. If somebody lies about sleeping with you and tells everyone about it, that’s a pretty major red flag. If they then act as though you mean nothing to them in front of all their friends, that’s another prominent red flag....
10. Twins (1988) The punchline ofTwinssmacks you in the face before you can even press play. From the posters, trailers, and even the title, we get the joke that these identical twins are everything but identical. Two polar-opposite actors—Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito—are cast as estranged brothers who “only their mother can tell them apart.” (Some jokes are so bad, they’re good.) Ivan Reitman’s whacky 80s comedy doesn’t serve a whole lot more than this obvious joke delivered in a hundred different witty ways, but it’s an easy, fun watch and sometimes that’s all you need....
10. The Burning Dead (2015) The Burning Dead(a play on the better-knownThe Walking Dead) is a delightful B-movie that blends the disaster genre with the zombie genre, resulting in a cocktail of suspense, special effects, and more. When a family gets lost on a mountain, Sheriff Denton (Thomas Downey) must go and rescue them. Easy, right? Unfortunately, being lost on the mountain isn’t the dangerous part. In fact, a volcano is about to erupt—and, for some reason, there are lava-filled zombies who are hungry for brains....
10. What We Do in the Shadows (2014) What We Do in the Shadowsis actually about vampires, but I’m including it because it has one of the most memorable showings of werewolves. The first time you see these vampires face off with werewolves, threatening each other with Kiwi accents, you’ll bust out laughing. (“We’re werewolves, not swearwolves!") It doesn’t matter whether Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement meant for this to be a commentary on the internal battle that werewolves face....
10. Dances With Wolves (1990) You can find wolves in movies of all kinds—even in prestige films, like Kevin Costner’s acclaimedDances With Wolves. In this Best Picture winner, Army Lieutenant John Dunbar (Kevin Costner) travels to uncharted terrain to set up a military post, but encounters a group of Lakota and decides to join them. There are two major wolf motifs in this film. First is Two Socks, the gray wolf that Dunbar befriends on his journey....
